Zoo trip

David got us some free tickets to the new exhibit that is opening soon at the Denver Zoo.  They were for the big preview event that was only open to Toyota invitees and since he works for Mountain States Toyota he was able to get us in!  :)  There is a new elephant in the Asian Tropics exhibit and he was so much fun to watch.  It is always sad to see the animals that should be roaming prairies and plains in such tight quarters but he still made us smile.

He loved swinging this heavy metal ball around.  It would clang and he just kept swinging it.

He laid on the sand like it was cooling him off.  

Elephant yoga anyone?

Carter liked seeing the animals and I'm sure would have enjoyed it more out of the stroller but it was a little chilly.  So, he mostly stayed in his stroller and hung out in there looking around at stuff.  And eating.  I think this kid ate as much lunch as I did!

 He kept trying to pull off his hood. 

Then he just gave up and ate my lunch.  :)

And put noodles in the cup holder for later.

Done with lunch and ready to go check out more animals!  Not a lot to look at in the cafe.

This kid would go right off the edge of the couch if we would let him.  But with a little assistance a lot can get accomplished when you're almost one!  (Yes, these pics are a little old again.)

Trouble in the making!

Happy Father's Day!!

Today has been a great day.  Jeff started out by riding about a 15 mile bike ride with Schmitty, Dave, and Danny.  Then they came home and Sara and I cooked them a fabulous breakfast of eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, waffle fries and blueberries.  :)  Then we went over to David's for some awesome smoked ribs, macaroni and cheese, potato salad and corn on the cob.  Man-we are spoiled!  The dogs are currently both passed out on the floor at our feet and Carter is napping soundlessly in his crib. Next up we are going over to the neighbor's for cube steak and rice.  Amazing day.

I want to make a shout out to my amazing husband, Jeffrey, for being such a great dad.  I mean, over the past year he has shown that he was meant to be a daddy!  It suits him so well.  You are a joy to watch with Carter and I am so lucky to be blessed with you as my husband and father to my children.  (Furry ones included!!!!!!)

Hide and Seek in Dad's closet

My mom took this one day while watching Carter and I love his little sense of adventure!  He is an explorer at heart!  I can't wait to take him camping and traveling and out exploring all the great things this world has to offer.  He is going to be so much fun to watch learn.

Pretty in Purple

What happens when you send Carter over to the neighbors (who have a baby girl) and he gets his clothes all dirty?  He comes home in a purple outfit!

And apparently it's laundry day here.

And he could care less!  I think his pink little cheeks here are an adorable addition to his outfit.  :)

These 2 cannot get enough of each other.  They seek each other out and then Carter tries to gnaw on her.  Ugh, these babies.....

It always starts out like they plan on sharing, and being cute, and sweet, and innocent.
