He much prefers chewing on his hand to getting clean. Clean is overrated. Especially the lotion part afterward. He really doesn't think that is necessary.
See, chewing is way more fun than lotion!

Bath time
He isn't quite thrilled with bath time right now...he prefers to shower. Such a big boy! ;-) But, he doesn't mind taking baths and he is so cute doing them!!

Baby Food making party
Me and the girls on the street (Pri and Jaimi) decided that we needed to start making some baby food because our babes are going to be starting solids soon! Well, Pri's little girl has already started, but Carter and Jaxson aren't there just yet.
I am waiting until CEO is 6 months because that is what is recommended for babies to strengthen their digestive and immune systems so they're less likely to develop food allergies. Which I, for one, know all about! Growing up with practically every food allergy imaginable, I am hoping that Carter doesn't have the same poor luck that I did when it comes to food.
He will be 6 months on Nov 7th and if his pediatrician says it's a go, then we will start solids. :) We made pumpkin, sweet potato, pears, and carrots. I think that is a good start for now. We have acorn squash and butternut squash sitting on the counter ready to be prepped as well.
I'm excited for our new adventure coming up, but not so excited about the stinky poo. I'm not gonna lie.

Real jean shorts
I thought these jean shorts were going to be too 'rough' on CEO's skin so I hadn't even put them on him. But, when Jeff started dressing him in the mornings he put some outfits on I wouldn't have chosen and I'm glad he did. These are my favorite little shorts on him!

He's a big boy now!
While I'm making smoothies or doing dishes, Carter will sometimes sit in his high chair and watch. :) He likes checking out what goes on around the house.

Carter goes swimming!
Ok, so technically Carter can't swim yet. But he does like playing in the water with his dad! Here we are getting ready to take our first dip.

The finishing touch
Carter's room is finally done!
The closet curtains are up! I wanted to put these up instead of closet doors so they make less noise when being opened and closed and so the door to the room didn't hit the closet door when it was open. I think they are fabulous!!
My dad did a beautiful job hanging them up. This was a project we had been putting off and I knew I couldn't keep doing that because my sister is coming to town at the beginning of September. And I knew since she practically did the rest of the room she would want to see the completely finished project when she was here. :) *Phew.* Just in the nick of time!
