Hanging on the front lawn

What a beautiful evening to hang out on our front lawn and check out some stuff with Carter while waiting for dad to get home.  I pointed out all the cool things outside like trees and umbrellas and clouds.

We really like meeting Jeffrey out front when he comes home from work.  I love summertime for that reason.  I always want him to come home to smiling faces.

Who wouldn't want to come home to this smiling face?

Don't think those puppies weren't out front with us waiting for their dad to get home too.  It's Roxy's favorite time of day.  And this is why.

Then once she gets enough snuggles to hold her over for a few seconds Jeffrey can love on his son.

And, if you're very quiet, most of the time they will fall asleep together.  Not usually out front but this was the perfect night to do just that.

What a happy home we have.

His first bottle

We didn't know when we would try a bottle with Carter but we went out the other night for the first time without the little guy, so I defrosted some of the milk that I had frozen.  And to our surprise he wasn't hungry while we were gone (and this kid is ALWAYS hungry so who knows...) but we had to use the milk within 24 hours.  Sooo, Jeff got to feed Carter his first bottle!

He likes it!

Finally able to feed his little man.

Whatcha lookin' at little buddy?

Man, this bottle stuff is hard work!

Apparently for the both of them!

Happy 1st Father's Day

What a great 6 weeks we have had with Boss Man.

Already leaning on dad for support.  :)

Sleeping in the hospital.

Ready to take this little guy home!

Smiling in his sleep he is so happy to have a son....

Silly Jeffrey....

Jeff is such a proud daddy!  I love these two together.  What a happy day today is.  Such a great reason to celebrate.

And no, I didn't forget my dad either.  Here he is with little mans.  Love you Dad!  Thanks for being my dad and thanks for everything that you do for me!

How he truly feels about the camera?

Nah.  That can't be it!  And if it is, you better get used to it buddy!  That's how it is in this family.  :)

Someone is a roll-over ninja

It was just another afternoon of tummy time...or so I thought.  Carter had other plans.  Well-probably not, but it sounds so much more dramatic that way.  Anyway, we were just kickin' it in Carter's room; changing him, playing on his bouncer and doing some tummy time.  Then he decided he wanted to roll over again!  This is the second time he has done it and I (sort of) got it on camera.  I wasn't even thinking that he was going to roll over or I would have taken way more pictures for a flip-book, but alas, who is to know these things?

But this is what I did get.  Last time he rolled from his back to his tummy.  This time he went from his tummy to his back.  :)

Just your average tummy time picture...

Starting to get ideas...

Getting a little fussy...

Winding up....

And PLOP!

And that my friends is how you properly execute a roll over!  He is so strong.  And he is starting to 'crawl' around at tummy time too.  He can scoot his way all around the floor!  And once he is able to lift up his head more it will be a much cleaner experience for him and his mouth.

No wonder...

he doesn't like sleeping in his crib.  This bed is SO much more comfortable!

Carter's first Winter Park trip!

Ah, what better way to spend a Sunday than up in the mountains?  We decided to head up to Winter Park for the day and hang out with our friends Katie and Andy.  Except Andy ate some bad bbq the night before and ended up spending the entire day sick.  Such a bummer because it was beautiful out!  Katie did get a few pictures of our little family together though which I love!

Our first family photo shoot!  :)

So after eating some pizza and watching Ratatouille with K&A we headed out to get some coffee and find a park.

Jeffrey tried to get Carter to take a little nap....

...but he was wide awake!  (You should be able to click on the picture if you can't see his little face under the hat.)

So Jeff got up and took the little man to the playground.  Who doesn't love a good twisty slide?

And Carter went for his first motorcycle bouncy ride!

Dad got him all set up!

It's like the playground was there just for them.  :)

But the dogs were feeling a little left out so we went to the giant grassy area and threw some friz for them.  Then we all relaxed and stretched our legs out a little.

 And played Carter plane!

And of course we had to stop and memorialize our trip by the Berthoud sign!

Team RK!

Kipp doesn't look thrilled about being so close to the little person, does he?

Rockstar just appreciated us bringing her!  See?  She is saying 'Thanks Mom!'

Such a fun day!!
